We design quiet buildings — for the way light moves, the way memory settles, and for the slow life of material in time.
A residence sited along the laterite ridges of Kozhikode, drawn around the late afternoon. Walls are kept thick. Openings are kept few — but exact.
The plan circles a single courtyard of black palmyra and gravel. Daylight enters from a high east clerestory, slowing as it crosses limewashed plaster, finally collecting on the kadappa stone floor — where it is allowed, finally, to rest.
